Man hurls slipper at Arvind Kejriwal at rally; accuses him of misleading people on the issue of corruption

A man identified as Jitendra Pathak tried to attack Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal as he arrived at the venue of an event here yesterday, witnesses said.

Pathak lunged at Kejriwal, who arrived at the sprawling Jhule Lal Park near the Lucknow University here, but was overpowered and beaten up by the crowd before being handed over to police, the witnesses said.
Pathak is from Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh and claims that he is not associated with any political outfit.

Pathak allegedly holds Kejriwal responsible for misleading people on the issue of corruption.
Kejriwal is a core member of the India Against Corruption campaign, headed by social activist Anna Hazare. This is the second attack on a member of Team Anna in the span on ten days.
Senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan was attacked by three youth owing allegiance to Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena in his Supreme Court chamber. He was assaulted by the group over his comments made on Kashmir. Bhushan had said that a referendum in Kashmir was needed to decide the state's political future.
